In 1967, Mrs. Beatrice Henderson started a coalition based on solidarity and community care. It was hosted at the Second Baptist Church, East Liverpool (Pennsylvania Avenue). Later, we acquired the Historic Garfield School Building in East Liverpool, Ohio, and expanded our services to offer equitable, accessible living essentials to anyone in need, from free daily meals to 24/7 childcare. We have since withstood the test of time through many economic crashes and the COVID pandemic, and are actively reinstating many of the programs our area now depends on.

The purpose of the Community Resource Center (CRC) is to plan and evaluate effective self-help programs for low to moderate-income families. We help solve community problems by bringing together government, business, labor, and service agencies, including civic religious groups. We easily served over 1,000 families in 2024 alone, and we are expecting more traffic as basic needs become increasingly dire. Keep an eye out for additional programs and events, like our annual health fair, senior outreach, and childcare.
